The PTC SafeLift™ and ISOLift™ 1” and 1 ½” chemical injection are uniquely designed variants of our, spring activated gas lift orifice valves, with a true metal-to-metal seal.
The key variation is the utilisation of disc ( or symbol) type spring stacks, which deliver a very precise opening pressure and have significantly less travel than a conventional coil spring. As a result the valve can be precisely set up before installation to ensure that at no point in it life, will the hydrostatic column of chemical greater than the FBHP plus the spring force. Consequently the valve will always require a positive pressure to open it, which means one of the major reasons for chemical injection system failures ( line evacuation and resultant line pressure reduction leading to line blocakage due to gunking or crystallisation) is mitigated.
The other main reason for CIV failure ( valve chattering ) is also eliminated because the spring movement is very short and the chemical is therefore not delivered in spurts. Consequently line pressure is maintained and the valve stays either in the open or closed position
Both Safelift and ISOlift valves have been designed using computational fluid dynamics to optimise flow paths and minimise erosional velocities. This, in combination with few moving parts, robust springs and an optimized material composition makes the valves very robust and ideal for long life service even in harsh environments (H2S, CO2).
The Safelift™ valves are differentiated from the ISOLifts in that they are treated with a special chemical coating processes and the seal faces are individually honed and mated to create a well barrier valve which is optimised to withstand erosion and to retain operational integrity for the lifetime of your well.
