In addition to the benefits offered by the SPM installed option, the Chemical Injection Sub option incorporates two downhole CIV's in series. The second providing additional redundancy to the system.
A shear mechanism is also provided upstream of the CIV. This allows testing of the chemical injection line, while the completion is being installed.
The 9 5/8" "x 5 ½" CIV sub, which is rated to 5000 psi and 65 - 165°C can also provide bypass for up to 6 control/ chemical injection lines.
