Our innovative equipment is also differentiated in that it can reduce gas lift completion installation / commissioning time. It can also significantly improve well lifecycle up time.
This is especially important on offshore platform and subsea wells. In these cases rig rates can approach $1 million / day. Also in cases where high deviations can make well interventions very challenging / time consuming.
In cases where no unloading valves are required our shearable orifice valve facilitates pressure testing of tubing and annulus, without the need to run and retrieve dummy valves. This can save 1 – 2 days completion installation time.
Our erosion resistant valves also facilitate much faster unloading rates. One client reported that they reduced well commission time by 2 days as a result.
A further benefit of our erosion resistant valves is their reliability / durability, especially in cases where wet lift gas is deployed. One client has reported savings of over $10 million for well intervention costs since adopting our valves.
In cases where well conditions have changed unexpectedly ( such that lift gas can no longer reach the depth of an installed operating valve) the valves offer further benefits. In these cases a number of clients are confidently using our IPO unloading valves for long term gas lifting, safe in the knowledge that it will reliably seal again when required. This is because the unique PTC check valve design is common to both the unloading and operating valves.
This functionality has already delivered one client operational cost savings of over £1million, on a subsea gas lifted wells.
Another OPCO is developing a subsea field where the range of reservoir pressures at which the gas lift design will be required to operate at are unknown. As a consequence the optimum gas lift design cannot be determined at the time the completion is installed. They saw the possibility of long term gas lifting through an unloading valve, without compromising well integrity, as a key reason for awarding PTC the contract to supply gas lift valves.
