- The 8" OD x 4 ½" CIV sub, which is rated to 5 000 PSI and 55 -121 °C can also provide bypass for up to 6 control / chemical injection lines.

Our valves can either be deployed as retrievable valves in Side Pocket Mandrels (SPM’s) or as permanent installations in Chemical Injection Subs.
In addition to the benefits offered by the SPM installed option, the Chemical Injection Sub option can also incorporate two downhole CIV's in series. We recommend this option is utilised in cases where longevity is critical ( eg sub sea ) .
Where 2 valves are utilised the downstream valve is installed with a weaker spring than the upstream valve, so that the stem movement is longer and the erosional velocities across the seal faces are lower.
Effectively in this configuration, the upstream valve operates as a flow metering / control valve as well as being a back-up check valve, while the downstream valve performs the primary check valve duty.
A shear mechanism can also be provided in the sub upstream of the CIV or shearable CIV can be deployed in the SPM versions. This allows testing of the chemical injection line, while the completion is being installed.

Chemicals are injected through a Chemical Injection Valve system (SafeLift-CIS) inside the sub. The valves operate with a high opening pressure, before injection will start. The high opening pressure will reduce the risk for the chemicals to start u-tubing due to weight difference in the hydrostatic column (Prod. tbg. versus chem. line).
The CIV Subs can also provide bypass for up to 6 contorl lines.
